In short: Grand Theft Auto VI launches on Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It unlocks at midnight local time in each region. When does GTA 6 come out?

The official date is November 19, 2026. The launch is staggered: the game unlocks at 00:00 local time, so players in New Zealand reach Vice City first. The road here was long: the game was first promised for autumn 2025, then for May 26, 2026, before Rockstar set the current date in November 2025.

How much does GTA 6 cost?

  • Standard Edition — $79.99: $10 above the usual AAA price, but below the $100 fans feared.

  • Ultimate Edition — $99.99: adds vehicles, weapons, outfits and other extras.

Everyone who buys before November 20 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack. Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026. Local prices depend on your regional PlayStation or Xbox store.

When can I pre-load GTA 6?

When pre-orders opened, Rockstar gave November 12 — one week before launch; Rockstar’s newswire page now lists November 10. Check the game page in your store for the exact date. Note that boxed copies ship without a disc — they contain a download code — so free up SSD space in advance.

What do we know about the story and world?

GTA 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida, inspired by Florida, including neon-soaked Vice City and beyond. The protagonists are Jason and Lucia. Rockstar calls it the biggest and most immersive game in the series.

When is GTA 6 coming to PC?

There is no official date. Historically, Rockstar has released PC versions later: GTA 4 arrived eight months after console, Red Dead Redemption 2 after 13 months and GTA 5 after 19 months.
